Masizole Mnqasela  was born on the 1st March 1981 in a small village of Nqadu (Qolombane) in Tsolo near Umtata.


Masizole completed his primary education at  Nqadu Junior Secondary School - 1987-1992

He went on to study at  Chumisa Primary School in Site B, Khayelitsha : 1993-1994 

Masizole continued his education at Chris Hani High School in Makhaza, Khayelitsha, Cape Town (1994-1998) - Where he achieved his Matric 

After matric Masizole studied for his National Certificate - N5 Electrical Engineering at Western Province Technical College : 1999-2000 and served in the SRC during that period. 

He enrolled with Cape Technikon for National Diploma in Electrical Engineering :  2001

He is currently registered with UNISA for a BA Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics ( PPE )


Masizole  was a ANC branch organiser in the executive committee of Ward 096, and a General Secretary of Ward 096 Development Forum in Makhaza, Khayelitsha: 2001- 2002 

He introduced the Democratic Alliance to the ANC bloated Khayelitsha Development Forum ( KDF), which refused membership to the DA for quite sometime and served as a member of its executive committee between 2004-2007.  

DA Branch Chairperson in Ward 096, Makhaza, Khayelitsha in 2003-2004. 

He was a Constituency Chairperson between 2003-2008. 

In 2004 I participated in a world forum of young people from 25 world countries, which took place in Germany on managing World Conflicts, the Protection of Human Rights and Advancing Liberal Principles in the people of the world. 

Masizole  served as a councillor in the City of Cape Town between November 2003- April 2009. 

In 2006 Masizole  worked together with Helen Zille in negotiating  with PAC to join a political pact that saw us winning Cape Town through a multi-party coalition system, which shaped the future of South African politics altogether. 

He has served as an executive councillor ( Chairperson of Sub council 6&10) between 2006-2009 April

He served as a member of Provincial Council since 2004.  

Masizole has been a member of the Federal Council from 2012 to 2014.

He served as a member of Parliament in the Republic of South Africa from 2009 to 2014. In the same time he was the  DA Deputy Shadow Minister on Home Affairs.

He is now the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Local Government in the Western Cape Parliament.
